Older Dog Rescue

It is a pleasure to be surrounded by lovely, intelligent animals with gentle, affectionate, and sometimes goofy personalities -- and to allow others to share that pleasure. Like most breeders, I aim to produce dogs that conform to the breed standard; but I would rather a pup with cosmetic defects, eg, poor eye colour or tail set, than a pup with health or personality disorders. My stock is mostly from English-derived lines with prefixes such as Rocheby, Cambremer, and Poolstead recurrent in their pedigrees, especially back three and four generations. After a couple of bad experiences, I have stopped line breeding at any level closer than three generations (ie, common great grandsire or third cousins acceptable, common grandsire or second cousins not ok).

I am very much in debt to Blackboy Kennels, both for allowing me to use some wonderful stud dogs, and for advice.

I have four Labs. They are house dogs and quite spoiled. I work on weekends and don't make it to many dog shows -- hence none of my dogs are titled. We all walk daily, and they have a two acre sand box.

Puppy News

Jarrah's litter to Blackboy Laplander (Rudy) was born on 30 November.  The surprise is that it was all black and yellow: no chocolates.  Odds of this happening were 100 to 1.  There are four black girls, two yellow boys, and one yellow girl.
Sorry, everyone who was hoping for a chocolate.

Rescue

Chilli seems to be a Rotti X Lab.  She has been staying with me for some months due to change of circumstances in her family.  She is affectionate and obedient, and tends to be protective to her family.  She is about 5 years old, speyed, and in good health.  She loves people, and it would be good to see her with a family.
